Our client is a leading and independently owned steel distributor, possesses over 40 years of experience processing and distributing tailored steel products to the Australian steel and building supplies industry. With their core mission to provide only the best packages and world-class products to their clients, they have dominated their competition and stand out as Australia's go-to supplier.
As the State Sales Manager, you will be leading the way, managing all aspects of sales activities, by creating and executing business plans to see the company soar. You will be the direct report for all sales executives, Account Managers, and Internal sales staff, providing them with guidance and support to reach their sales targets and to hit company goals.
Your duties include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage the entire sales department, being a direct report to sales executives, internal sales, and account managers
- Create an executive effective business plans and sales strategies to achieve company targets
- Ensure that active accounts are being nurtured effectively and with consistent contact for upselling and new deals
- Inventory management - maintain stock levels and purchase stock as required
- Monthly forecasting and all compliance documents to be kept up to date
- Conduct employee reviews and support
- Maintain top-level health and safety regulations
About you:
- 7 + years of experience in the same role or similar - Steel experience and knowledge are required!
- A ‘hands-on’ and motivated individual, with a successful track record of achieving results through influence
- Strong leadership skills, with an approachable, but constructive nature
- The ability to drive the sales team to new heights, create business plans, sales strategies, and training programs to enhance employee results
