Our client is located in the heart of Sydney CBD and they are seeking an experienced luxury watchmaker to join them on a full-time permanent basis. Key responsibilities:
- Examination and replacement of worn parts and control of end shakes of exchanged parts.
- Examination/replacement of balance staff and hairspring
- Re-assembly of cleaned movement and lubrication as per factory specifications.
- Polishing and refinishing of case and bracelet as per model specification and factory specification
- Re-assembly of case and testing for water resistance as per model specification and factory specification.
- Installation of movement inclusive of dial and hands.
- Conduct final testing procedure to determine the correct function of the calendar and self-winding mechanism as well as a final test to determine that the timekeeping is within wrist chronometer tolerances as per factory standard and Geneva After-Sales specifications.
- An appropriate qualification in watchmaking
- It is desirable for the watchmaker to have received initial training at an institution/watchmaking school allied with WOSTEP (Watchmaker of Switzerland Training and Education Programme) or with a manufacturer of quality timepieces
- Demonstrable ability to interpret the results of timing machine analysis and make necessary adjustments to return the timepiece to factory tolerances.
