Job Description

IT Security Architect :: Financial Services

Our multi award winning financial services client is looking for a highly experienced Security Architect to join their team. You will be responsible for shaping security engagement on projects. You will also contribute to the strategic development of the cyber security roadmap, define security solutions and provide guidance to internal IT delivery teams and 3rd party vendors to understand and mitigate cyber risk. This is a fantastic international organisaiton to join that has grown steadily over the years. Main roles and responsibilities 

Cultivate strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders, fulfill governance practices, operate efficiently with technical integrity and minimum bureaucracy, and ensure transparency and currency of relevant domain architecture artifacts and deliverables. 

Maintain current knowledge of security architecture, technology best practices and emerging technologies. Maintain knowledge of cybersecurity regulatory/compliance requirements within the financial services industry 

What do you need to be succseful in the role ?

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a Security Architect or Security Engineer, a strong foundation in IT with core competencies in networking, data, infrastructure or applications, and possess a successful track record on security architecture work for strategic initiatives. 

You will also have demonstrated competencies in financial services in a regulated environment, experience working within architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, SABSA or Zachman and experience articulating cyber risks and controls in a threat/risk-oriented manner.

The Security Architect must have the ability to define security controls, data flows, and capturing security risks, justify recommendations and engage stakeholders in risk trade-off discussions, and demonstrate stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills. They must also have a technical understanding of cyber threat and common security controls, an understanding of key regulatory frameworks and the ability to leverage Agile productivity management tools
