Job Description

Our client is a leading National household name. You will be working on an exciting Greenfield Data Transformation journey that is sponsored from C-Level who really “get” data. This organisation is becoming more and more data driven and as a Data Engineer you will be building and maintaining data pipelines. The purpose of your role is to prepare data to be consumed by the BI and Data Science teams working in a multi-terabyte environment.

Your Role:
  • Design, build and maintain data pipelines.
  • Work in cross functional teams to deliver to project timelines
  • Development of detailed ELT/ETL specs for developing data integrations
  • Liaise with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Acquire, ingest, and process data from multiple sources and systems into the cloud data platforms
  • Understand, assess and map the data landscape
  • Draw on your initiative to work in a growing greenfield environment – comfortable working in an ambiguous environment
You will need:
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification in IT/Maths or equivalent industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in a cloud environment – Azure, Snowflake
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with ability to translate the technical into plain English and prioritise timelines
  • Proficient in Data Warehousing and Data Engineering
  • Proven experience of modern cloud data warehouse architecture and technologies
  • Proficient in ETL, SQL, and exposure to python desirable  
  • Exposure to DevOps principles CI/CD desirable
  • Proficient working in an agile environment
