Sirius Technology's client is going through a major technology transformation and seeking a strong System Admin- Systems & Integrations engineer.
Position Summary :
The Infrastructure & Applications Team is composed of Systems Administrators, Technical Analysts and other Technology staff members. As a member of the Technology Systems Administration Team this position is responsible for the installation, management, maintenance, support and optimisation of the firm's Server infrastructure, Applications and integrations, including Cloud and Software as a Service.
This role will be heavily involved in automating tasks and integration software to on-premise and cloud based solutions to streamline tasks, whether technology or business related. A strong focus will be on leveraging the numerous automation frameworks and removing manual steps, this could extend to supporting Robotic Process Automation and third party platforms. The primary focus of this role is to provide technical expertise in the area of Systems and Integrations however the role also needs to support the wider team through helpdesk requests and projects work. An after-hours on call roster for level 3 support and security incident response is being planned, should this be implemented it's expected that this role will participate in that roster.
Key Responsibilities
Investigate opportunities for automation and streamlining tasks, document and implement once approved.
Manage existing systems and applications with a view to optimise and integrate wherever possible
Follow change management and documentation procedures for the deployment and maintenance of systems
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members in the area of automation, Infrastructure as Code and agile best practices
Documenting workflows and processes used\needed for automation and maintenance of existing systems
You are not just a systems person but an agile knowledge worker who is keen to learn new technologies and ways of working
Work as directed by the Systems Administration Team Leader
Solid technical skills are essential with Information Technology related qualifications. BS in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent practical experience) required
A strong working knowledge of security solutions and best practices
Strong hands-on Operating Systems experience (Windows, Linux, etc.)
Strong Application Support experience (Exchange, Citrix, others)
Ability to quickly learn new technologies
Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure problems
Strong project management skills including contingency and rollback mindset
Familiarity with one or more development languages (C# .NET, Python, PowerShell, JavaScript etc.) would be advantageous
Able to work as part of a close knit team and act on issues without immediate supervision.
Attention to detail and ability to keep the big picture in mind
Able to quality assure all work to a high standard
Excellent analytical interpretation and problem solving abilities
Excellent organisational skills
Enthusiastic with a 'can do' attitude
Able to remain calm under pressure
