We have an interesting opportunity for a Senior Systems Administrator. This position involves planning, designing, and implementing modifications to information systems in order to improve functionality, resiliency, security, and efficiency to support essential organisational applications across various business divisions.
You'll also be responsible for assuring the stability, integrity, and effective functioning of internal information systems that support fundamental organisational functions in this capacity.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Participating in the designing and planning of new systems and enhancements to existing systems.
- Reviewing and analysing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems.
- Developing, designing and deploying new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.
- Conducting research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
- Interacting and negotiating with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services.
- Gauging the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Designing and performing server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
To be successful you will need:
- Proven experience in participation in the designing, development, and implementation of systems, applications, and related products.
- Proven experience with systems planning, management and security principles.
- Proven experience in cloud infrastructure including with Microsoft Azure PAAS and IAAS.
- knowledge of container and orchestration technologies including Docker & Kubernetes.
- Proven experience of current network protocols, Internet standards including switch, routing, wireless, firewall, proxy and VPN technologies.
- Extensive experience with core Microsoft applications, including Active Directory, Remote Desktop Services, Office 365, Microsoft SQL Server, File and Print Services.
- Extensive experience in Microsoft Azure Resources including Network, Virtual Machines, Storage, App Services, Functions, Databases, Front Door and API Gateways.
