We have an exciting Senior Systems administrator role available. This organisation is a trusted national retail company who are looking to grow its team.
In this role, you will be required to provide outstanding IT infrastructure for the company's head office and external settings, including server infrastructure, network connection, and a variety of applications running in the business.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 Support for problems identified with systems and networks.
- Act as an escalation for Level 1 and Level 2 support analysts.
- Create, request, and present technical specifications and requirements for purchasing new servers and networking equipment via quote procedure.
- Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on-call availability as needed.
- Standard system administration duties including server installation, System/Application install and patch management, Windows problem determination, and resolution, log analysis, etc.
- Configure, test, and maintain LAN equipment and services, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems including network connectivity, traffic utilization, etc. using available network tools.
- Provide Infrastructure services in all areas needed: storage networking, Operating System, network security, directory services, server virtualisation using system backup and restore, system and network monitoring, application installation, and configuration.
- Interface with third-party vendors and service providers as required.
- Provide mentoring and support to the Systems Administrator and support desk team members.
To be successful you will need:
- Relevant commercial IT industry project delivery experience.
- Broad understanding of relevant and emerging technologies and solutions.
- Experience working in Retail – or large multiple sites environments.
- Cloud solutions experience (Azure, Office 365 and AWS).
- Experience with SAN storage solutions (primarily Dell, HP, EMC).
- Experience in VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Experience in MDM solutions (Airwatch).
- Exposure to multi-site IT environments (MPLS, BGP).
- Experience with Security and protection of networks and data.
- WAN / Cloud (Exceptional skills required).
- Experience with Citrix or Remote Desktop Services.
- Experience with SCCM and or MS Intune.
- Understanding of Server and Network monitoring tools (such as SCOM or Solarwinds).
- Exchange / Windows Server OS.
- Understanding of and familiarity with SQL Server database environment.
- ITIL understanding.
- Prince 2 understanding.
- IP and related protocol (Communications networking, SIP, ISDN, VOIP).
This will be a 2IC role for the Infrastructure Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring and guiding 1 junior systems engineer.
