Job Description

An Australian leader in the online education sector is looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to join a growing Technology Team. As a Python Web Developer, you’ll be responsible for the development, maintenance, and site reliability engineering for all consumer-facing websites and applications.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Strong Python, Django development experience
  • Experience delivering APIs and web services
  • HTML5, CSS3, MySQL
  • GIT for version control and CI/CD
  • Experience with unit testing
  • An understanding of Cloud Functions (Serverless) and GCP

It would be nice to have an understanding of:

  • Docker, Jenkins
  • Any templating languages, like Jinja for integration with front end
 
Reporting to the Technical Lead you’ll be working on:
  • Develop scalable, testable & efficient code required for highly available services;
  • Writing test cases and ensuring a high level of code quality;
  • Integrating user-facing elements into applications
  • Improving the functionality of existing systems
  • Performance testing and debugging code on existing applications;
  • Work closely with the front-end team to maintain website/CMS & design APIs 
  • Monitoring performance of all production systems (ongoing)
