What's on offer
A vacancy for a Level 2/3 Application Support Consultant has become available due to expanding requirements. This is a 6 month contract (view to extend) based in Sydney CBD where you will be the primary point of contact within the technology portfolio for any issues/bugs/requests/enhancements. This means you will need to have good knowledge of Java and be able to deliver a solution to the technical teams.

Responsibilities
- Respond to support requests in accordance with agreed service levels
- Liaising with external vendors, infrastructure support team, application development team, IT test team, business analysis team, stakeholders and end users to maintain, troubleshoot and resolve application and technical issues as required
- On a day to day basis, providing level 2 and level 3 support for complex multi-tier web applications
- Maintain issue logs and produce detailed incident reports
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Confidently articulating problems, issues and providing solutions
- Continuously prioritising and effectively managing tasks and issues
- Provide successful technical solutions to issues in a timely manner
- Strictly observe process and service level agreements
- Manage and maintain support tickets according to defined process
- Provide regular status updates to end users and stakeholders
- Estimate and develop small enhancements to the application
- Share knowledge with other team members
- Participate in solution and process improvement
Essentials
- Good understanding of Java code
- Extensive experience in a similar customer facing/support role
- Strong ITIL Skills where you have worked through the service transition layers
- Experience of working in 24x7 time critical environments
- Ability to communicate effectively and with both clients and team members
- Excellent problem solving and data analysis skills
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools (Splunk/ELK/Dynatrace/Appdynamics etc)
- Good understanding of digital technologies & analytics
Nice to haves
- ITIL Certification
- Shell/Python scripting skills or previous development experience
- ServiceNow Reporting
