Job Description

A permanent opportunity to join the Engineering DevOps team in one of the worlds premier investment banks. The role will sit within the Equities Division with the aim to make production better in all aspects, through performance tweaks, detailed monitoring, better release procedures, improved testing and in-depth knowledge of each product running in production environment. 

Role and responsibilities:
  • Analyse, implement, improve and maintain technical plant monitoring, alerts, provisioning and capacity management
  • Set the standards for release and deployment practices 
  • Document and communicate production changes
  • Automate recurring tasks and eliminate issues
  • Contribute to design, build and integration testing for large scale distributed applications
  • Drive continuous improvement through bug follow-ups and root-cause analysis
  • Working with multiple dev teams and enabling fast delivery of complex inter-dependent changes
  • Influential in changing our SDLC processes
Essential skills:

  • Linux and basic Linux sys admin capabilities, including Bash scripting
  • Experience using source control systems
  • Working knowledge of Python, good understanding of OOP ability to write and test Python apps 
  • The ability to interact and design REST-like services
  • Have strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
Desirable skills:
  • Cloud and Infrastructure as Code technologies
  • Demonstrating proficiency in Java, C and/or C++
  • Large scale data processing tools like Elastic Search and add-on tools like Kibana, Logstash
